Campaign for Blue Space


To better serve our community, Sail Newport has launched the Campaign for Blue Space, 
a three-part fundraising initiative to:

1)  Expand public access sailing programs

2) Broaden our marine education programming

3) Build and support a Mid-Park Marine Education and Recreation Center

Sail Newport has the opportunity to provide every sailor from five-year--olds to the highest level racers, with a facility that matches our world-class sailing programs.

WHY Sailing:

  • instill confidence and self-reliance

  • requires teamwork. planning, problem solving and clear communication skills

  • instills discipline and maturity

  • connects people to nature

  • inspires learning about weather, water and the marine environment
  • teaches skills that transfer to life success at school, at work and in the community.

WHAT is the Sail Newport Mid-Park Marine Education and Recreation Center

A new LEED-compliant building for Sail Newport with

  • year-round restrooms, changing rooms and showers, enabling Sail Newport to extend to four-season sailing,
    sailing recreation,marine education and other marine-related programming
  • new and additional offices and meeting spaces
  • multiple Classrooms
  • kitchen
  • covered deck space to shelter from sun exposure and inclement weather
  • outdoor meeting space
  • regatta headquarters for meetings and awards gathering
  • fully accessible
