Thanks to everyone who registered for the 2012 Youth Sailing Program Lottery.  Registration closed on Saturday, February 18, at 5PM EST.  Please read below for further information regarding the lottery process and to register for the wait-list for the summer programs.  If there is availability in a session for your child, we will notify you shortly after.

Some notes for registering your child:

When registering your child, be sure to follow ALL steps carefully, and be sure that you receive a confirmation e-mail for your child. If you do NOT receive a confirmation, be sure to check your spam/bulk folders, then if you still don’t find it, feel free to email Vinnie to make sure the registration went through.

 Below are the Lottery rules for the Two-Week Dinghy, Youth Keelbaot and Little Guppies Classes. Please read these carefully and feel free to contact us if you have any questions about the registration process.

Admittance into Sail Newport's Youth Dinghy, Keelboat and Little Guppies Programs is not handled on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to the tremendous popularity of the program(s), a lottery is used to assign spaces in the various classes.               

Online Lottery Registration is available by clicking on the link "Go To Lottery Registration" after reading this.  Online registration is the preferred method of registering!   If you are unable to register online, please call us at (401)846-1983 to discuss other options.  No deposit is required at this time, however, payment or financial aid forms will be required once your student has been accepted into the program.                                                                                                                                                                              

Sail Newport collects all Dinghy, Little Guppy and Keelboat Class registration forms from early January through mid-February. Please remember that this is NOT a first-come, first-served program.  

If, after 5 pm on the last day of the lottery, any class in any session has more registrations than slots available, THAT SESSION WILL GO TO A LOTTERY.                                                                                                                                        

It is HIGHLY recommended to have 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th choices for the lottery, as you may not get into a first choice, but if you do not have alternate choices, you may be shut out of the program entirely.                                                                     

Results of the Lottery will be posted online HERE a few days after the lottery closes.                                                             

If after the lottery, there are spaces open in any of the classes, students will be admitted in the order that their registrations are received. Registration will continue through the spring until all slots are filled and thereafter a waiting list will be kept.                                                               

Minimum Age Requirements:   

Students wishing to participate in the Little Guppies Program must have turned 5 before January 1, 2012.

Students wishing to participate in the 2-Week Dinghy Program must have turned 7 before January 1, 2012.

Students wishing to participate in the Youth Keelboat Program must have turned 12 before January 1, 2012
