Race Committee Volunteer

We have an exciting line-up of regattas this season and we need lots of help.  View the 2014 regattas below:

May

Moth Atlantic Coast Championship - One of the most thrilling classes in sailing returns to Newport after an extremely successful Spring Fling in 2013.  Sail Newport is excited to host the 2014 Moth Atlantic Coast Championship.

June

Youth Challenge - Offering one of the best early season regattas, Sail Newport will host junior sailors to compete in Club 420s, Optis and Laser Radials on Narragansett Bay.  As the water warms up and we roll into summer, come watch the sailors take their talents to the water.

July

Newport Regatta - One of the premier regattas on the east coast, this year's competition should not disappoint.  Offering the exclamation point on what should be great BACARDI Race Week, we are excited to host 18 classes sailing on Narragansett Bay and the Rhode Island Sound.

August

Opti New Englands - Sail Newport will be hosting the 2014 Optimist New England Championship.  Offering a great opportunity for young sailors to try their skills against some of the best sailors in the country, we expect to surpass the 295 competitors from last year's competition!

Melges 32 Nationals - Arguably one of the most competitive and thrilling one design classes will compete for the national championship in August.  These powered-up sport boats will provide some thrilling action as they gear up for their world championships to follow in Miami!

Melges 20 Nationals - Right on the heels of the 32s, the Melges 20 will look to provide another action packed weekend as the battle for the national championship.

Classic Yacht Regatta - One of the most iconic regattas in the summer comes at the end of August as the classic yachts hit the water.  As sailors battle to win the Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge, spectators will have the opportunity to see some of New England's most prestigious yachts in this year's Class Yacht Regatta.

September

Blind National Championship - Sail Newport is excited to once again host the Blind National Championship.  After a great event last year, we are looking to continue the momentum and host another fabulous regatta.

J/24 World Championship - After a successful North American Championship, J/24 sailors from around the world will come to Newport to find out who is the best of the best.  Local team Helly Hansen, led by Tim Healy and John Mollicone, will look to find their title on their home waters.

October

Sail for Hope - An event that is near and dear to our hearts at Sail Newport, Sail for Hope will be in its 14th year.  This regatta provides competitors to give back to their communities and have a great weekend on the water at the same time.

Sail Newport Membership Championship - As we complete our season, the Sail Newport Member's Championship offers the opportunity for members to come out and compete on Sail Newport's fleet of J/22.

Halloween Howl - As the regatta season comes to a close, we always look forward to this event.  Youth sailors once again will come down to the Fort Adams looking to have a great weekend on the water.  Come down and see them in their best disguises as they compete for Best Costume!

At Sail Newport, our goal is to offer the best run regattas on the East Coast and provide a great experience for our volunteers.  Please sign up below.

If you cannot commit to all the days of a regatta, no problem - check the box anyway and leave us a note as to the days you are available.
