Reservations: Sail Newport Dock Office (401) 849-8385 (May 18th - Labor Day) Between Columbus Day - May 18th please call the Main Office for information on lesson and rental availability (401) 846-1983  Our Sailboat Rental Fleet consists of 12 J/22s and 2 Rhodes 19s. (We also operate a separate fleet of safety boats which are on the water whenever Sail Newport vessels are in use.). The rental fleet is available by reservation or on an "as availabile" basis. (401) 849-8385. We require a driver's license/recognized form of ID and deposit/CC #, to rent. An annual on-the-water Check-Out by a member of Sail Newport's staff is required. The check out is typically done right before you rent the first time, and is our chance to see that you have sufficient skills to sail the boat safely and appropriately in the conditions, as well as to familiarlize you with our boats and the sailing area. The check-out typically takes 10-20 minutes. Spinnaker Gear Spinnakers are available for use on the fleet of J/22s for an additional fee of $25. Renters wishing to use spinnakers must also pass a more comprehensive check-out. Please call for additional information. Our Kayak Rental Fleet consists of easy to use sit-on-top single and double kayaks that can be rented in two hour time blocks for use in Newport Harbor. We accept MasterCard, Visa, AMEX and Discover Card. Your reservation guarantees payment unless you cancel with the Dock Office (401/849-8385) 24 hours in advance of your scheduled rental time, or if the Sailing Center staff determines that weather conditions warrant cancellation. Discounts Coupon Booklets: Five rental session coupon booklets are available for use of J22 and Rhodes 19 sailboats. You must be a Sail Newport member to purchase and use a coupon book. The discounted rate (weekdays) is $ 223.00 per booklet for a J22 and $ 151 for the Rhodes 19 or $303.00 for a J/22 and $218.00 for a R/19 (weekends). Open Card: Entitles the user (must be a Sail Newport member) to open access to any of the keelboat fleet during regularly scheduled rental times EXCEPT Saturday and Sunday afternoon (12:30pm - 3:30pm) rental periods and holidays. Open Card holders may take a boat at the start of the Sat/Sun afternoon rental period or holiday, if one is still available. |
