The annual Coastal Living Newport Regatta promised three days of spectacular racing on Narragansett Bay, premiere socials and the backdrop of Newport's City-by-the-Sea.

Coastal Living Magazine's 2008 Newport Regatta did not dissapoint! Visitors enjoyed the many restaurants, pubs, marinas, mansions, beaches, parks and unique harbor.

Great breeze, sunny skies and big waves...all reasons why the Coastal Living Newport Regatta has become an annual tradition for sailors.

The 2008 regatta, which marks the 24th consecutive sailing of the event, will feature twenty-one One-Design classes from across North America, and will include several competitors from Europe. The 2007 regatta drew more than 250 boats and nearly 1,200 competitors from 18 states and 5 countries.


Racing will be held in several locations around Narragansett Bay and will include 2 offshore racing circles, one to two miles from Brenton Point. Spectators will be able to watch the event from areas north of the Newport Bridge along the Goat Island, Fort Adams and Jamestown Shoreline down to Brenton Point State Park.
