Event Dockage
EVENT DOCKAGE and DOCKING AT SAIL NEWPORT
ALOFSIN PIERS:
Overnight dockage at the Alofsin Piers is available for special events and regattas arranged in advance with Sail Newport.
Overnight transient dockage is not available--we recommend you try one of the commercial marinas or mooring services in Newport Harbor. Contact the Newport Harbormaster on VHF Ch 16 for further information.
Temporary Tie-Up of recreational vessels and dinghies on the floating docks at the Alofsin Piers, as indicated by signage, is permitted for up to 2 hours maximum.
Commercial Use of the Alofsin Piers: Tour boats, tenders and other commercial vessels are allowed under special permit only. A license agreement is required with the State of Rhode Island and Sail Newport for landing and departing at the Alofsin Piers. Also, an insurance certificate naming the State of Rhode Island and Sail Newport, Inc. is required to be on file with Sail Newport prior to dockage.
- No fueling of any vessel is allowed at the Piers at any time
- No overnight vehicle parking (except by arrangement with the DEM Park Manager)
- No security
- No sleeping on vessels during regattas
- Alcohol consumption is not allowed within the park confines.
ADMIRALS PIER:
There is no dockage available at the Admirals Pier. Vessels using the hoists to launch may not be left unattended on the docks at any time.
PUBLIC DINGHY DOCK:
Available at the Sail Newport Youth Docks as designated on the south west side. Three hour maximum for dinghy tie-up.
