Group Instruction

Sail Newport offers weekly group adult learn-to-sail, adult intermediate and adult advanced courses from late May through Labor Day weekend, and then on weekends in September and October. Each session consists of six hours instruction over a three day period. Classes are limited to a maximum of three students with an instructor, and are taught in our fleet of brand new J/22's and Rhodes 19's. All levels of skill are offered each session, providing you with the flexibility to take as many courses as you wish, when you wish, and make progress towards your goal at your own pace.

Adult Group Lesson Schedule

Weekdays: Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday
Morning Session 9:30-11:30 a.m.
Evening Session 6-8 p.m.

Weekends: Friday/Saturday/Sunday
Friday 6-8 p.m., Saturday/Sunday 9:30-11:30 a.m.

Sail Newport reserves the right to change, reschedule or cancel any classes at any time. The program is designed for a maximum ratio of three students, and one instructor per boat.

Private Instruction

We also offer private instruction, with certified instructors, for all skill levels ages 10 and older (lessons for younger children can be arranged with a parent or guardian). Private lessons provide a one-on-one experience as a refresher, confidence builder, or introduction to the sport of sailing.
