Sail Newport’s annual Advanced Racing Clinic is dedicated to the memory of Brooke

Sail Newport's 2017 Brooke Gonzalez Advanced Racing Clinic will be held for the 17th year, Thursday, June 15th (mid-afternoon/report day) through Sunday, June 18th, 2017. Come learn from the best coaches and to jump start your summer!
Standard classes each year are Lasers (Radial & Full Rig) and Club 420's. Applications are also encouraged for International 420, 29r, Byte, and Nacra 15, as classes will be supported if sufficient qualified applications are received. The BEG is a BRING YOUR OWN BOAT Clinic, although limited charter boats are available for many classes.
The online application/resume builder will be up and running on February 1, 2017. Deadline for applications is April 1, 2017. Selected sailors will be notified by April 15th.

Applicants 14 - 18 years of age are selected based upon their resume. This is a very intense, high-level program. Participation is limited and is by application and acceptance only.
The 3 ½ day program will consist of lectures and on-the-water drills with an emphasis on boat handling technique,

On Saturday Night of the clinic, sailors are treated to a speaker from the highest levels of the sport. Prior speakers have included: Gary Jobson, Dean Brenner, 470 Gold Medalist Kevin Burnham, Olympic Team Members, America's Cup veteran and Volvo Race Competitors Ken Read and Jerry Kirby.
The most important thing to remember is that when you get here at Sail Newport, there will be no reason to leave. Meals, spare parts, etc. will be here. Even locals will be required to stay on site for the full day. Our coaches want your undivided attention. The more you put into this clinic, the more you will advance because of it, so we expect full commitment all sailor athletes!
